PocketSentry is designed as a privacy-conscious Android anti-theft alarm app. This policy explains what information the app may use and how optional features work.
No account required
PocketSentry does not require a user account for core app use.
Local app PIN
PocketSentry may ask you to create a local app PIN. This PIN is used on your device to access or disarm the app. It is not an online account password.
Camera and evidence photos
Optional evidence photo features require camera permission. When enabled by you, PocketSentry may capture photos during alarm events or after failed device credential attempts. Evidence photos are intended to help you review suspicious activity involving your device.
Evidence photos remain on your device unless you choose to save copies to your gallery. If gallery copies are enabled, cloud backup services such as Google Photos may back up those photos depending on your device settings.
Microphone and custom voice clips
If you record custom voice warnings, PocketSentry may request microphone permission. Recordings are used for the alarm warning feature.
Notifications and foreground services
PocketSentry may use notifications and foreground services so protection features, alarms, voice warnings, evidence capture, and Charge Guard can work while the app is not directly in the foreground. These services are tied to user-enabled protection features and are shown with user-visible notifications when active.
Device admin access
Lock-screen evidence requires Android device admin access. This permission is used to detect failed PIN, pattern, or password attempts and may be disabled by you through Android settings or the app’s guidance.
Billing
Purchases and subscriptions are handled through Google Play Billing. PocketSentry does not process your payment card details directly.
Advertising ID
PocketSentry does not use the Google Advertising ID for advertising in the app.
